Game 6 of the Western Conference semifinals between the San Antonio Spurs<\/a> and the Minnesota Timberwolves<\/a> will be played on Friday, May 15.<\/p>\n

The Spurs and Timberwolves entered Game 5 with the series tied 2-2. San Antonio<\/a> picked up the crucial win and now has a chance to clinch the series on Friday night. With a win, the Spurs would advance to the Western Conference finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder<\/a>.<\/p>\n

San Antonio center Victor Wembanyama<\/a> missed the second half of Game 4 due to his first-half ejection<\/a> resulting from a flagrant foul. He wasn\u2019t suspended and returned with a vengeance<\/a> in Game 5.\u00a0He finished with 27 points and an impressive 17 rebounds. Sixth Man of the Year Keldon Johnson<\/a> also had a big game with 21 points off the bench.<\/p>\n

Minnesota couldn\u2019t get into a groove in the 126-97 loss to San Antonio. Guard Anthony Edwards<\/a> finished with 20 points, and Julius Randle<\/a> notched a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.<\/p>\n

The Timberwolves\u2019 largest lead of the game was just two points, and it came with 10:20 left in the first quarter, when they were up 5-3. Once the Spurs took a 7-5 lead with 10 minutes left in the first, they did not give it back and went on to win by 29 points.<\/p>\n

Minnesota must win in Game 6 to force a series-deciding Game 7 back in San Antonio on Sunday. If the Spurs win, the series is over, and they will advance to the conference finals to take on the Thunder.<\/p>\n
