Carmelo Anthony said he wants to \u201cclear the air\u201d with his former Knicks teammate Jeremy Lin more than a decade after \u201cLinsanity\u201d took over New York in 2012. <\/p>\n
During Monday\u2019s installment of the \u201c7PM In Brooklyn\u201d podcast,<\/a> Anthony invited Lin to come on his podcast to \u201cspeak the truth\u201d \u2014 but Anthony offered no other explanation.<\/p>\n \u201cJeremy Lin, I\u2019m giving you my invite to come sit on the couch,\u201d Anthony said.<\/p>\n \u201cLet\u2019s have a conversation, let\u2019s clear the air on a lot of bullshit that\u2019s out there please. REUTERS<\/p>\n Anthony has discussed the matter on multiple occasions. <\/p>\n During a May 2024 installment of his podcast<\/a>, Anthony and Baron Davis, who was a member of the 2012 Knicks team, said they were supportive of Lin\u2019s fame<\/a> behind closed doors.<\/p>\n \u201cPeople always talk about \u2026 nobody liked the Linsanity \u2026 personally me, you get what I\u2019m saying? AP<\/p>\n Lin acknowledged \u201cthe theory\u201d that Anthony being jealous played a part in his Knicks exit \u2014 but declined to \u201cfeed the speculation train\u201d in a 2022 interview with the Daily Beast<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI know, and I\u2019m saying this truthfully, that there were multiple points of opposition completely outside of Melo within what was going on, and once [head coach Mike] D\u2019Antoni resigned, there was already opposition within the organization \u2014 whether it was the coaching staff that took over or certain members of the front office,\u201d Lin said. <\/p>\n \u201cBut there was definitely, from what I\u2019ve heard or gathered in the few years after, it wasn\u2019t all as rosy as people thought it was.
