Los Angeles<\/a>\u2019 two biggest franchises continue to grow closer together.<\/p>\n

The Lakers<\/a> and Dodgers, both owned by Mark Walter, have seen executives pull double duty or fully shift from one organization to the other.<\/p>\n

Now, with the Lakers set to set to undertake a \u201cfull rebuild and retool\u201d<\/a> after being swept in the second round of the playoffs, they\u2019ll be leaning on the Dodgers more, as reported by Yaron Weitzman of Yahoo! Sports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But as it turns out, the Dodgers already played a big role in the Lakers\u2019 playoffs this season.<\/p>\n

Dodgers helped get Laker healthy for playoffs<\/p>\n

The injury-plagued Lakers were working to get guard Austin Reaves<\/a> back to compete against the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder.<\/p>\n

Reaves had strained his oblique, an injury that surely sounds familiar to Dodgers fans.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the same injury that sidelined star shortstop Mookie Betts<\/a> for weeks.<\/p>\n

So who else would the Lakers turn to when it comes to rehabilitating Reaves?<\/p>\n

And that cooperation wasn\u2019t a one-off, according to Lakers president of basketball operations Rob Pelinka.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re working in collaboration with some of the Dodgers folks to bring in a biomechanics lab,\u201d Pelinka\u00a0said.<\/p>\n

Considering that the Lakers\u2019 magical March promised postseason success before injuries to Reaves and superstar Luka Doncic<\/a>, investing in keeping players healthy should be paramount for the Lakers.<\/p>\n

And if LeBron James were to return for his record 24th season<\/a> with the Lakers, keeping him healthy would raise the stakes even further.<\/p>\n
