The Cleveland Cavaliers<\/a> fell into a 0-2 hole against the New York Knicks<\/a> with a 109-93 loss on Thursday night.<\/p>\n

If the loss wasn\u2019t enough, ESPN<\/a>\u2018s Kendrick Perkins<\/a> wants the NBA<\/a> to punish the Cavaliers for their lack of effort during the game. In an appearance on \u201cFirst Take\u201d the former NBA player suggested Adam Silver take action against Cleveland for the \u201cembarrassment\u201d the team has displayed.<\/p>\n

\u201cReal talk, when we\u2019re watching the Cavs, it\u2019s an embarrassment to the NBA. And if I\u2019m Adam Silver, I would think about fining them for the performance and the effort they\u2019re displaying on the floor,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Cleveland faced a two-game deficit against the Detroit Pistons<\/a> in the Eastern Conference semifinals before winning four of the next five games to set up a date with the Knicks in the conference finals. The Cavaliers also had a stranglehold on Game 1 against New York before it went on a 44-11 run to win the game in overtime.<\/p>\n
