The Indiana Pacers have a new coach in the organization, according to reporter Evan Sidery. That would happen to be Connor McCaffrey, who also happens to be the boyfriend of Indiana Fever<\/a> superstar Caitlin Clark.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Pacers hired Connor McCaffrey, Caitlin Clark\u2019s boyfriend, as a player development coach for their G League team. McCaffrey has spent the past two years on Butler\u2019s coaching staff locally in Indianapolis,\u201d Sidery reported on X.<\/p>\n

McCaffrey also happens to be the son of former Iowa Hawkeyes head coach Fran McCaffrey, whom he played for at Iowa. Fans on social media questioned exactly why McCaffrey was hired.<\/p>\n

\u201cNepo bf,\u201d someone else added.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd what does Caitlin owe the Fever in return?\u201d another fan asked.<\/p>\n

McCaffrey family not loved in Iowa?<\/p>\n

Interestingly, Connor\u2019s parents found themselves in headlines<\/a> recently over their alleged treatment of longtime Hawkeyes media members. Reporter Scott Dochterman said that Fran tried to have the longtime play-by-play voice for the football and men\u2019s basketball teams for Learfield\/IMG College and the Iowa Hawkeye Sports Network, Gary Dolphin, fired.<\/p>\n

Apparently, Fran\u2019s wife and Connor\u2019s mother, Margaret, even had a verbal altercation with Dolphin after he asked about a losing streak.<\/p>\n

\u201cMargaret came unglued, F-bombed him, screamed at him to the point where the leadership of both Iowa and Learfield had to be called in\u2026 She would scream at them when she\u2019s there, \u2018I don\u2019t need to be babysat!\u2019 and this is to keep the coach\u2019s wife from yelling at the, the Voice of the Hawkeyes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hopefully, Connor\u2019s time with the Pacers organization is free of any such controversies.<\/p>\n
