Clemson<\/a> basketball\u2019s<\/a> 2026-27 season is still months away, but with most rosters now in place, national projections are starting to roll in.<\/p>\n

CBS Sports recently released its early ACC outlook<\/a> and placed Clemson<\/a> in the conference\u2019s bubble tier, projecting the Tigers<\/a> as a team that could be fighting for an NCAA Tournament spot next March.<\/p>\n

The projection includes all four of Clemson\u2019s transfer additions in the starting lineup. Notre Dame transfer Cole Certa, TCU transfer Liutauras Lelevicius, San Francisco transfer David Fuchs and former Samford standout Dylan Faulkner<\/a> were all projected as starters alongside returning guard Ace Buckner.<\/p>\n

While CBS praised the fit of Clemson\u2019s newcomers, questions remain about the Tigers\u2019 overall ceiling. Much of that uncertainty centers around the health of Zac Foster and Carter Welling, both of whom are recovering from torn ACLs. If they can return later in the season, Clemson\u2019s outlook could improve significantly.<\/p>\n

There are also concerns about the team\u2019s athleticism, shot creation and rim protection, though Brad Brownell\u2019s track record of player development could help address some of those issues.<\/p>\n

National evaluations of Clemson\u2019s transfer class have varied. 247Sports ranked the group No. 53 nationally and ninth in the ACC, while On3\u2019s transfer portal rankings placed the Tigers 17th in the country.<\/p>\n

Clemson is coming off its third straight NCAA Tournament appearance, continuing one of the most successful stretches of the Brownell era. In CBS Sports\u2019 early ACC projections, Duke was listed among the national title contenders, while Clemson joined NC State, Florida State, SMU and Syracuse in the conference\u2019s bubble group.<\/p>\n
