The\u00a0Houston Rockets<\/a>\u00a0have had players donning a total of 52 different jersey numbers (and have one not part of any numerical series for Houston assistant coach and general manager Carroll Dawson) since their founding at the start of the 1967-68 season, worn by just under 500 players in the course of\u00a0Rockets history.<\/p>\n

To honor all of the players who wore those numbers over the decades,\u00a0Rockets Wire is covering the entire history of jersey numbers and the players who wore them since the founding of the team all those years ago right up to the present day.<\/p>\n

With seven of those jerseys now retired to honor some of the greatest\u00a0Rockets of all time to wear those jerseys, there is a lot of history to cover.<\/p>\n

And for today’s article, we will continue with the sixth of eight who wore the No. 17, forward alum PJ Tucker.After ending his college career at Texas, Tucker was picked up with the 35th overall selection of the 2006 NBA Draft by the Toronto Raptors<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Raleigh, North Carolina native played the first season of his pro career with Toronto. He also played in other leagues, and for the Phoenix Suns<\/a> and the Raptors again before he signed with the Houston Rockets in 2017. His stay with the team lasted until he was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks<\/a> in 2021.<\/p>\n

During his time suiting up for the Rockets, Tucker wore only jersey Nos. 17 and 4 and put up 6.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.2 steals per game.<\/p>\n
