He said that he was talking specifically about staying at a Hyatt hotel in Memphis and that he didn’t mean any ill will toward the residents of the city.<\/p>\n\u201cEverything I say and do is overblown,\u201d says James during his haircut. \u201cI don\u2019t have a problem with Memphis people. People need to know that. I have a problem with that hotel, and I don\u2019t like going there.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Grizzlies have played in Memphis since the 2001-02 season, and while they initially struggled following their move there from Vancouver, British Columbia, they started to become very competitive and made the playoffs seven consecutive times from 2011 to 2017.<\/p>\n
While they went 25-57 this season, they will have the No. 3 in this month’s NBA draft, which will give them the opportunity to add a franchise player to their roster. They may not play in the most entertaining city in America, but they could be able to field a competitive roster once again, not too long from now<\/p>\n
