{"id":766538,"date":"2026-06-21T06:09:12","date_gmt":"2026-06-21T06:09:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/766538\/"},"modified":"2026-06-21T06:09:12","modified_gmt":"2026-06-21T06:09:12","slug":"msu-basketball-left-off-top-ncaa-tournament-seeds-list-by-cbs-sports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/766538\/","title":{"rendered":"MSU basketball left off top NCAA Tournament seeds list by CBS Sports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>June 20, 2026, 9:33 p.m. ET<\/p>\n<p>A CBS Sports bracketology update for the 2026-27 season does not include Michigan State as a top-two seed.The early projection lists two other Big Ten teams as No. 2 seeds.Many analysts consider Michigan State a preseason top-10 team for the upcoming season.The projection has drawn reactions from fans, though the season is still several months away.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">One national analyst doesn&#8217;t have Michigan State pegged as a top two seed in their early look ahead to the 2026-27 season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">National writer David Cobb <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/DavidWCobb\/status\/2067600224466452683\" data-t-l=\":b|z|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" rel=\"nofollow\">posted<\/a> the current CBS Sports Bracketology update for the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds for next year&#8217;s NCAA Tournament, and Michigan State didn&#8217;t make the cut. The Spartans were left off the graphic, signaling that Michigan State most likely is viewed as a No. 3 seed or potentially lower for CBS Sports&#8217; bracketology.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Here&#8217;s the graphic that Cobb posted, which does include a pair of Big Ten teams as No. 2 seeds:<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Michigan State is considered by many to be a preseason top 10 team entering next year, with some having them near the top of the national polls. So it&#8217;s surprising to see Cobb (or whoever put this bracketology post together) outside of a top two seed. The college basketball season is also more than four months away so it&#8217;s hard to put too much merit into any preseason poll or bracket projection at this time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Regardless, this post caused a reaction from Spartan fans in the comments and certainly got my attention as well.
