Allan Hancock College men\u2019s basketball center Noah Morris and women\u2019s basketball forward Anastasia Drolette have signed their letters of intent to play at the the next level.<\/p>\n
Morris will head to Monmouth, Oregon to play for the NCAA Division II Western Oregon while Drolette will head to Milwaukee to play for NCAA Division III Alverno College.<\/p>\n
Last season Morris was named Western State Conference (North) Defensive Player of the Year and averaged a double-double with 12.2 points and 10.9 rebounds per game.<\/p>\n
\u201cI feel that playing at the JUCO level really tests your love for the game and it showed me that I really do love this sport and want to put my all into it,\u201d Morris said. \u201cThe coaching staff here helped me realize how important great coaching is to a successful program.\u201d<\/p>\n
Morris will enter with two years of eligibility left as he looks to help the Wolves and second year head coach Ryan Orton improve on their 9-18 season last year.<\/p>\n
\u201cI chose Western Oregon because I felt that it would be the best fit for me in terms of development,\u201d Morris said. \u201cI really like the coaching staff and trust their vision for success.\u201d<\/p>\n
Drolette finished fourth on the Bulldogs with 6.4 points per game and was second on the team averaging 5.0 rebounds. She scored a career- high 15 points against Cuesta College back in January.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlverno\u2019s education system is very unique, focusing on hands-on learning and experience instead of a traditional grading system,\u201d Drolette said. \u201cThis aligns with my career and life goals.\u201d<\/p>\n
