By now, it is no secret that the Boston Celtics are listening to calls about the trade cost of star forward Jaylen Brown. And we are hearing rumbles that the Georgia native will require a haul of draft capital AND the sort of players that would keep Boston in the contention mix, a hard row to hoe if ever there was one when it comes to satisfying an ask.<\/p>\n

But according to recent reporting from the Stein Line founder Marc Stein and co-contributor Jake Fischer, there may be a team in the NBA willing to pony up such an offer for Brown’s services. “There is one team leaguewide,” writes<\/a> the duo, “most frequently described as actively pursuing Boston’s Jaylen Brown. The Portland Trail Blazers<\/a>.”<\/p>\n

“The Blazers have been known to covet Brown dating back to Damian Lillard’s first tenure with the franchise,” they add. “And they still do.”<\/p>\n

Noting that the Blazers had hoped to move Jerami Grant and draft capital for Giannis Antetokounmpo or Anthony Davis, they note that “Brown undeniably ranks as another All-NBA talent who entices them.”<\/p>\n

“The question from here, of course, is whether even the aggressive Blazers are willing to satisfy Boston’s steep demands in trade talks”<\/p>\n
