The Minnesota Timberwolves acquired Mike Conley in one of the greatest trade coups in franchise history<\/a>, and one that is directly responsible for two-straight Western Conference Finals appearances in 2024 and 2025.<\/p>\n In the deal<\/a>, D\u2019Angelo Russell \u2014 who was beefing with Rudy Gobert and causing major problems<\/a> in the Wolves locker room at the time \u2014 along with Malik Beasley \u2014 who\u2019s now facing point-shaving allegations<\/a> \u2014 and Jarred Vanderbilt were shipped to the LA Lakers.<\/p>\n In return, Minnesota received Mike Conley and Nickeil Alexander-Walker<\/a>, plus (3) second round draft picks. Immediately, the transaction fixed multiple issues the Wolves had both on and off the floor.<\/p>\n And it didn\u2019t take long, upon his arrival, for Conley to become one of the Timberwolves\u2019 main locker room leaders and connectors.
