(WAND) &#8211; The Charlotte Hornets have signed former Illini guard and Champaign native Kylan Boswell to a two-way NBA contract.<\/p>\n<p>NBA teams are permitted to have up to 3 players under two-way contracts in their system. Players spend most of their time in the NBA G League, but can be called up to the NBA roster at any time. Signees can be active for a maximum of 50 games at the NBA level. During his senior year at Illinois, he\u00a0averaged 12.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists. Boswell also made a name for himself off the ball, widely regarded as one of the top defenders in the country, and his leadership helped Illinois to their first Final Four appearance since 2005.<\/p>\n<p>According to the G League, the annual salary for a two-way Contract is equal to 50% of the NBA minimum salary applicable a player in their first year in the NBA.\u00a0 If a two-way Contract is signed during the NBA regular season, that amount is prorated based on the number of days remaining in the NBA season.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026.
