The Suns\u2019 offseason moves didn\u2019t change the fact that Devin Booker<\/a> will serve as the team\u2019s primary scorer and playmaker next season, the Arizona Republic\u2019s Duane Rankin<\/a> opines.<\/p>\n

They re-signed Collin Gillespie<\/a>, Jordan Goodwin<\/a> and Mark Williams<\/a>, added free agent sharpshooter Luke Kennard<\/a> and traded for forward Miles Bridges<\/a>. However, they also dealt Grayson Allen<\/a> and Royce O\u2019Neale<\/a>, two of the team\u2019s more reliable 3-point shooters last season. Phoenix is also banking on a healthier season from Jalen Green<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But it\u2019s on Booker, who has won a playoff game since 2023, to once again lead the Suns to a better 2026\/27 season.<\/p>\n

Bridges and his ex-girlfriend are at odds once again, with both parties making accusations against each other. Mychelle Johnson claimed he filed criminal charges against her for throwing water on him to harass her and have her arrested to take her away from their kids. Mychelle said Miles tried to run her over with a golf cart during a custody exchange \u2026 which led to her allegedly throwing water, TMZ<\/a> reports. Bridges was granted a temporary restraining order against Johnson earlier this year \u2026 after claiming she was cyberstalking him and showed up to one of his games in an attempt to damage his car. Johnson denied the claims. Bridges didn\u2019t play in 2022\/23 and served<\/a> a 10-game suspension the following season due to domestic violence charges.
\nSecond-year big man Khaman Maluach<\/a> posted a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds in the Suns\u2019 Summer League opener against Portland. Maluach departed early in the fourth quarter due to leg cramps. \u201cThey didn\u2019t really kick in until the fourth quarter,\u201d Maluach told Rankin<\/a>. \u201cThat\u2019s when I started feeling the cramps, but I just got to figure it out. Do a better job of hydrating.\u201d\u00a0He posted another double \u2014 15 points, 15 rebounds \u2014 in their second Summer League game on Sunday, Rankin tweets<\/a>.
\n\u00a0Rookie Koa Peat<\/a> is trying to establish himself as a point forward. The late first-rounder out of Arizona started slowly offensively in his Vegas Summer League debut but scored 13 of his 17 points in the second half on 4-of-5 shooting.
