Bridges should bring a scoring boost to the Suns at power forward. He averaged 17.1 points on 46% shooting last season, while also averaging 5.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists in the 77 games he played for Charlotte. <\/p>\n
The 6-foot-7, 225-pound forward was able to hit three or more three-pointers in a career-high 29 games last season.<\/p>\n
In his career, which was all spent in Charlotte, Bridges averages 15.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. But over the past three seasons, Bridges has averaged 19.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.1 three-pointers per game. <\/p>\n
Bridges was the 12th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft after playing college basketball at Michigan State University. <\/p>\n
The Suns say Bridges will wear number 22. <\/p>\n
The new acquisition does come with some off-court questions. Bridges sat out the 2022-23 season following accusations of domestic abuse.<\/p>\n
He was arrested in June 2022 on the eve of free agency on charges including felony child abuse and injuring a child\u2019s parent. The NBA forced him to sit out while his legal case was pending. He ultimately pleaded no contest to a felony domestic violence charge in November 2022.<\/p>\n
Bridges was suspended for 30 games in April 2023 by the league but received a 20-game credit because he missed the entire 2022-23 season.<\/p>\n
Charlotte never made the playoffs during Bridges\u2019 tenure with the team.<\/p>\n
