The Brooklyn Nets<\/a> came into the 2026 NBA offseason with the goal of improving the team as much as possible following a 2025-26 season in which they finished with a 20-62 record. Brooklyn has been making various moves to improve the roster, including trading for Minnesota Timberwolves<\/a> forward Julius Randle, but one of the Nets<\/a>‘ recent draft picks is heading elsewhere to continue his career.<\/p>\n Nets forward Jalen Wilson is signing with the Atlanta Hawks<\/a> on a Two-Way contract, according to a report on Monday from HoopsHype NBA insider Michael Scotto. Earlier this offseason, Brooklyn declined<\/a> to tender a qualifying offer (QO) to Wilson, making him an unrestricted free-agent that was open to sign with any team without the need of an offer sheet that restricted free-agents get.<\/p>\n Wilson, 25<\/a>, is coming off a 2025-26 season in which he averaged 6.4 points and 2.1 rebounds per game while shooting 39.6% from the field and 35.5% from behind the three-point line in 54 games played. Wilson spent the majority of his career coming off the bench for the Nets after the team selected him with the 51st overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft out of Kansas.<\/p>\n Wilson had the best season of his three-year career during the 2024-25 campaign when the Nets began the first year of their rebuild after trading Mikal Bridges to the New York Knicks<\/a> for a bevy of first-round picks. In 79 games (22 starts) played for the Nets that season, Wilson averaged 9.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game while shooting 39.7% from the floor and 33.7% from deep.<\/p>\n With the Nets building around their five-man 2025 NBA Draft class and their three-man 2026 class, Wilson appeared to be one of the players feeling the roster squeeze, especially after adding Randle. Wilson moves on to a Hawks team that gave the Knicks a scare in the NBA playoffs and with him being on a Two-Way, he should be one of the better Two-Way players in the league given his experience.<\/p>\n
