According to<\/a> BasketNews, a former Charlotte Hornets<\/a> forward has agreed to sign a pro contract overseas. Jalen McDaniels<\/a>, a former No. 52 overall selection, has agreed to a one-year deal with the Kobe Storks of the Japanese B League. There, McDaniels will join a roster that includes former UNC Tar Heel Luke Maye<\/a> and Allen Hachimura, younger brother of Los Angeles Clippers<\/a> forward Rui Hachimura<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now 28 years old, McDaniels played six seasons in the NBA, three and a half of which he spent with the Hornets. McDaniel’s strongest campaign came in the 2022-23 season, where he averaged 10.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, two assists, 1.2 steals and 0.5 blocks in 54 games for Charlotte before being traded to the Philadelphia 76ers<\/a> midseason. He would then make 54 more appearances between the Raptors and Wizards<\/a>, with his final NBA appearance to date coming on a 10-day contract near the end of the 2024-25 campaign.<\/p>\n
