The move had long been expected, especially since the Spanish team Valencia Basket <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hoopsrumors.com\/2026\/07\/valencia-basket-announces-deal-with-mouhamadou-gueye.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">announced last week<\/a> that it had reached an agreement to add Gueye to its roster for the coming season.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Mouhamadou-Gueye-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-471287\"  \/>After going undrafted out of Pitt in 2022, Gueye spent most of his first four professional seasons in the G League, playing for the Texas Legends, Raptors 905, Capital City Go-Go, and Windy City Bulls. In 2025\/26, the 6\u20199\u2033 forward averaged 14.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.4 blocks in 29.2 minutes per game over the course of 47 outings for Windy City, Chicago\u2019s NBAGL affiliate.<\/p>\n<p>Gueye\u2019s solid play in the G League earned him a two-year contract with the Bulls during the last week of the regular season. The 28-year-old, who previously made 11 appearances for Toronto during the 2023\/24 season, logged 45 minutes in Chicago\u2019s final two regular season contests in April, contributing 16 points, six rebounds, and six assists.<\/p>\n<p>Gueye, whose minimum salary for the 2026\/27 was non-guaranteed, was <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hoopsrumors.com\/2026\/07\/wolves-hornets-nets-bulls-finalize-four-team-trade.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">sent from Chicago to Charlotte<\/a> earlier this month in the four-team trade headlined by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/b\/ballla01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.hoopsrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-07-30_bbr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">LaMelo Ball<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/r\/randlju01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.hoopsrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-07-30_bbr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Julius Randle<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/c\/claxtni01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.hoopsrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-07-30_bbr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Nic Claxton<\/a> in order to satisfy the \u201ctouch\u201d rules for all four clubs.<\/p>\n<p>The Hornets, who had been carrying a full 21-man offseason roster prior to waiving Gueye, now have one one spot but are still dealing with a roster crunch that they\u2019ll have to address at some point prior to opening night this fall.<\/p>\n<p>Charlotte has 17 players on standard contracts, including 16 with guaranteed salaries, and all three of the team\u2019s <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hoopsrumors.com\/2026\/07\/2026-27-nba-two-way-contract-tracker.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">two-way slots<\/a> are occupied as well.
