The 76ers kicked things off with an early trade for Jaylen Brown in a shocking move with the Celtics.<\/p>\n<p>That trade led to LeBron joining the 76ers as a free agent, snubbing the Warriors and others. With Golden State\u2019s competitive hopes next to naught, a wild trade idea is forming.<\/p>\n<p>The Celtics might show interest in acquiring Stephen Curry<\/p>\n<p>With the Warriors choosing not to trade for win-now players to protect their post-Curry future, many have questioned if Curry will retire on the Warriors like everyone\u2019s been assuming.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/nba\/celtics\/onsi\/could-the-boston-celtics-pry-steph-curry-away-from-golden-state-warriors-01kyj8tkdjbr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Celtics could emerge as a leading destination for Curry<\/a> to see out his career on a win-now franchise instead of seeing out his career on a non-Playoff Warriors team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not entirely confident in Curry being traded this season. It would be a bit of a shocking development if he did. There\u2019s no doubt Brad Stevens has already been on the phone with the Warriors brass to pitch a deal if they want one.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/GettyImages-2182651374-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Golden State Warriors v Boston Celtics\" \/>Photo by Adam Glanzman\/Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>James and Brown reinforcing the 76ers as a much better team on paper than the Celtics will make the franchise uncomfortable.
