Trade speculation connecting Stephen Curry<\/a> to the Boston Celtics<\/a> picked up steam this week, but according to NBA insider Brett Siegel,<\/a> there\u2019s little reality behind it from the Golden State Warriors\u2019<\/a> side.<\/p>\n

\u201cStephen Curry won\u2019t be traded by the Warriors and he isn\u2019t prepared to ask for a trade,\u201d Siegel wrote.<\/a><\/p>\n

Context on the Speculation<\/p>\n

Sports Illustrated\u2019s John Karalis<\/a> floated the idea that Celtics president Brad Stevens<\/a> could pursue a deal for Curry after Boston\u2019s offseason trade of Jaylen Brown<\/a> left the roster searching for another star. Karalis speculated<\/a> Stevens would reach out to Golden State if the Warriors were ever open to moving Curry.<\/p>\n

Siegel\u2019s comments<\/a> push back directly on the premise that any such opening exists.<\/p>\n

Why the Warriors Have No Reason to Move On\"Stephen<\/p>\n

Curry remains fully committed to the only franchise he\u2019s ever played for, and the front office has shown no indication it\u2019s interested in exploring life without the greatest player in franchise history. Golden State is reportedly planning to offer him a maximum contract extension as soon as this August, a clear signal of where the organization\u2019s priorities sit.<\/a><\/p>\n

His production backs up that commitment. At 38, Curry averaged 26.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 4.7 assists last season while shooting 46.8 percent from the field and 39.3 percent from three,<\/a> numbers that still rank among the best guards in basketball. He\u2019s delivered four championships to Golden State, cementing his place at the top of the franchise\u2019s all-time greats.<\/p>\n

Golden State\u2019s Roster Questions Remain\"Jimmy<\/p>\n

Golden State\u2019s competitive picture is genuinely complicated. Jimmy Butler<\/a> is still working back from a torn ACL, and the Warriors will once again lean heavily on an aging core that finished 10th in the West last season. Those are real questions facing the front office.<\/p>\n

None of that, according to Siegel,<\/a> translates into any willingness to move Curry himself. The uncertainty around Golden State\u2019s roster and the security of Curry\u2019s own future appear to be two entirely separate conversations.<\/p>\n

Final Word for the Warriors<\/p>\n

Stephen Curry isn\u2019t going anywhere, at least based on where things currently stand. Boston\u2019s interest, real or theoretical, doesn\u2019t appear to change that.<\/p>\n

Golden State has bigger questions to sort out this offseason. For now, Curry\u2019s status doesn\u2019t appear to be one of them.<\/p>\n
