PICKETT STARTING HALL OF FAME GAME<\/p>\n
Kenny Pickett was a big swing and a miss<\/a> by the Steelers. They hoped he would develop into Ben Roethlisberger\u2019s successor. However, he flamed out quickly and was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles after only two seasons. Pickett has bounced around the league since. He\u2019s now with the Carolina Panthers.<\/p>\n ESPN insider Adam Schefter reported on Twitter<\/a> that Pickett will start for the Panthers in the Hall of Fame game. That\u2019s the first preseason game of the year, and Pickett will get a chance to show what he\u2019s got. He won\u2019t be the Panthers\u2019 starter, but maybe he can increase his value and build some positive momentum for his career.<\/p>\n PACERS PG AT PRACTICE<\/p>\n A lot has changed for the Steelers this year. The biggest difference is that Mike Tomlin is gone and Mike McCarthy is the team\u2019s head coach now. His training camp looks different than Tomlin\u2019s. However, he\u2019s still had some notable faces appear to watch practices.<\/p>\n Steelers writer Brian Batko shared on Twitter<\/a> that Indiana Pacers point guard T.J. McConnell was at a recent Steelers training camp practice. McConnell is a Pittsburgh native, spending a few years in college at Duquesne. He didn\u2019t become one of the league\u2019s best running backs, but he was consistent, posting over 1,000 rushing yards in each of his four seasons in Pittsburgh. He joined the Los Angeles Chargers last year in free agency. But unfortunately, he tore his Achilles, limiting him to only three games.<\/p>\n Harris is currently a free agent, but he\u2019s working his way back to the field. Doug Hendrickson posted a video on Twitter<\/a> of Harris running and doing some drills. It looks like he\u2019s close to being at 100 percent. We\u2019ll see if any team signs Harris.<\/p>\n
