While NBA star LeBron James took quite the heat following his recent roster move, his former Miami Heat peer Chris Bosh had a different take on this.<\/p>\n

\u201cPhilly was a pretty good choice, too,\u201d he said of Bron\u2019s move to the Philadelphia 76ers, via Sam Yip of HoopsHype. \u201cA lot of people call it ring chasing. Everybody chases rings. If you didn\u2019t think Kobe and Jordan were ring chasers too, you\u2019re crazy. Everybody wants a ring. I\u2019ll chase a ring right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

The argument is that even the biggest NBA stars have changed rosters to chase rings. Surely many criticised James for not sticking with the Los Angeles Lakers, but if playing with Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid, and Jaylen Brown in Philly earns him a ring, Bosh sees nothing wrong with that.<\/p>\n

If anything, the retired 42-year-old would do the same had his career not ended early due to a blood clot condition in 2017. However, if he had the choice, he\u2019d rather reunite with the Miami Heat. Bosh\u2019s only \u201csurprise\u201d was that Bron didn\u2019t do the same.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m surprised, but I\u2019m not surprised,\u201d he added further<\/a> to the same segment. \u201cYou know, that was just my best pick. I was like, hey, if I\u2019m doing something, I\u2019m going to go to Miami, if it was me.\u201d<\/p>\n

The point remains the same. The greats also prioritized winning titles, and Bron winning a ring in his 24th or 25th season would be pretty epic. Moreover, Bosh wasn\u2019t the only one to defend James.<\/p>\n

Shaquille O\u2019Neal Backed Up LeBron James<\/p>\n

Aside from Bosh\u2019s Jordan, Kobe example, O\u2019Neal has been another strong voice to defend Bron\u2019s 2-year, $8 million signing with the 76ers. The former Lakers star already has 4 championships under his belt, and to O\u2019Neal, it\u2019s really not about \u201cring chasing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t blame him for trying to get with a team where he can get another championship. People call it ring chasing, I call it ring continuance,\u201d O\u2019Neal told SiriusXM NBA Radio recently.<\/a> \u201cHe already has four rings. It\u2019s funny the people that don\u2019t have rings, \u2018Oh, he\u2019s ring chasing.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou always want to put yourself in a position to win a championship,\u201d the NBA icon added. \u201cNow you\u2019re on your way out, you can get with a team that\u2019s got some players to get one or two more, I would do it.\u201d<\/p>\n

This ultimately fortified Bosh\u2019s remarks. To build a legacy, titles matter, and the winners have always done it.<\/p>\n
