The Phoenix Suns capped their offseason negotiations with forward Dillon Brooks by signing him to a three-year, USD 73 million contract extension, as announced on Aug. 6, 2026.

After a stellar breakout year in his debut season with the Suns, Phoenix made it known that re-signing Brooks would be an integral part of its long-term plan alongside Devin Booker.

Brooks quickly blossomed into a reliable offensive threat in his first year in Phoenix after establishing himself as the second scoring option behind Booker.

Brooks was known for his defensive tenacity during his tenure with Memphis and Houston, but as soon as he donned Phoenix’s threads, the two-way Canadian star improved his isolation scoring and 3-point shooting to expand his game even further.

After averaging only 13 points per game over his first eight seasons, Brooks increased his offensive production to 20.2 points per game in Phoenix, along with 3.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists.

Brooks’ consistent scoring propelled the Suns to the Western Conference playoffs, but they received a harsh reality check when the Oklahoma City Thunder swept them in four games.

In 37.3 minutes per game, Brooks wrapped up the first round of the postseason with more impressive statistics, averaging 26 points, six rebounds, and 1.8 assists against the Thunder.

Brooks helped Phoenix put up a fight in the final three games against Oklahoma City, scoring 30, 33, and 23 points in Games 2–4, respectively.

Phoenix is trying to redeem itself after moving on from Kevin Durant, who was sent to the Rockets in a massive trade last season.

Before securing Brooks’ services, the Suns acquired versatile power forward Miles Bridges from the Charlotte Hornets, along with a 2029 first-round pick and a 2027 second-round pick.

To add more shooting and floor spacing, Phoenix also acquired veteran sharpshooter Luke Kennard from the Los Angeles Lakers and savvy guard Pat Spencer from the Golden State Warriors.

Phoenix then opted for stability and size in the 2026 NBA draft by selecting Arizona’s Koa Peat, a physically imposing combo forward whose playing style has drawn comparisons to Paolo Banchero.

Can Phoenix return to its winning ways after these offseason moves?

The three-year, USD 73 million extension through the 2029–30 season is consistent with reports from NBA.com and ESPN.

Dillon Brooks stays with the Suns after signing a three-year deal (Phoenix Suns Facebook) By Leobert Julian A.…

[3791
7,93841,93845,93843,6,93844,2065,472,4045,604,93842
post-805229","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-phoenix-suns","tag-basketball","tag-daily-guardian","tag-dg","tag-iloilo-news","tag-nba","tag-philippines-news","tag-phoenix","tag-phoenix-suns","tag-phoenixsuns","tag-suns","tag-western-visayas-news
["GET
