{"id":807015,"date":"2026-08-08T20:45:16","date_gmt":"2026-08-08T20:45:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/807015\/"},"modified":"2026-08-08T20:45:16","modified_gmt":"2026-08-08T20:45:16","slug":"report-kevin-love-wants-to-join-1-nba-team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/807015\/","title":{"rendered":"Report: Kevin Love wants to join 1 NBA team"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kevin Love<a class=\"maisdio-link\" href=\"#\" data-sport=\"nba\" data-athlete=\"20000572\" data-name=\"Kevin Love\" data-track-content=\"\" data-content-name=\"mai-sportsdataio-link\" data-content-piece=\"Kevin Love\"><\/a> is very much looking to join the party out East.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The former NBA All-Star big man Love is interested in reuniting with LeBron James<a class=\"maisdio-link\" href=\"#\" data-sport=\"nba\" data-athlete=\"20000571\" data-name=\"LeBron James\" data-track-content=\"\" data-content-name=\"mai-sportsdataio-link\" data-content-piece=\"LeBron James\"><\/a> on the Philadelphia 76ers, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/story\/_\/id\/49538507\/updates-biggest-remaining-nba-free-agents\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dave McMenamin of ESPN reported this week<\/a>. McMenamin adds that Love\u2019s agent, Jeff Schwartz of Excel Sports Management, has been in touch with the Philadelphia front office ever since James\u2019 decision to join their team.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, there are some big roadblocks to Love joining the 76ers. For one, the team is currently at roster capacity after signing Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (another former James teammate), and that includes already having two backup centers (Adem Bona<a class=\"maisdio-link\" href=\"#\" data-sport=\"nba\" data-athlete=\"20003242\" data-name=\"Adem Bona\" data-track-content=\"\" data-content-name=\"mai-sportsdataio-link\" data-content-piece=\"Adem Bona\"><\/a> and Ariel Hukporti<a class=\"maisdio-link\" href=\"#\" data-sport=\"nba\" data-athlete=\"20003257\" data-name=\"Ariel Hukporti\" data-track-content=\"\" data-content-name=\"mai-sportsdataio-link\" data-content-piece=\"Ariel Hukporti\"><\/a>) behind Joel Embiid<a class=\"maisdio-link\" href=\"#\" data-sport=\"nba\" data-athlete=\"20000726\" data-name=\"Joel Embiid\" data-track-content=\"\" data-content-name=\"mai-sportsdataio-link\" data-content-piece=\"Joel Embiid\"><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can read McMenamin\u2019s full report on the situation <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/story\/_\/id\/49538507\/updates-biggest-remaining-nba-free-agents\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Love, 37, remains unsigned as an unrestricted free agent. A five-time NBA All-Star and a two-time All-NBA selection, Love averaged 6.7 points and 5.8 rebounds per game in a limited role for the Utah Jazz<a class=\"maisdio-link\" href=\"#\" data-sport=\"nba\" data-team=\"20000017\" data-name=\"Utah Jazz\" data-track-content=\"\" data-content-name=\"mai-sportsdataio-link\" data-content-piece=\"Utah Jazz\"><\/a> last season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, Love and James played together on the Cleveland Cavaliers<a class=\"maisdio-link\" href=\"#\" data-sport=\"nba\" data-team=\"20000012\" data-name=\"Cleveland Cavaliers\" data-track-content=\"\" data-content-name=\"mai-sportsdataio-link\" data-content-piece=\"Cleveland Cavaliers\"><\/a> from 2014-18, making the NBA Finals in every single season and also winning a championship in 2016. We had heard for awhile <a href=\"https:\/\/larrybrownsports.com\/basketball\/lebron-james-package-deal-all-star-kevin-love\/761474\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">that Love could possibly be a package deal with James<\/a>, and the two have also <a href=\"https:\/\/larrybrownsports.com\/basketball\/kevin-love-incredible-2016-cavaliers-reunion-photo\/758574\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">been spending some notable time together this summer<\/a>.
