The 2026-27 NBA season will be an interesting one for the Boston Celtics. After a busy offseason, headlined by the blockbuster trade that sent Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers<\/a> in exchange for Paul George and picks, there will be a lot of pressure on them to prove that they should still be considered legitimate title contenders.<\/p>\n

Only time will tell how the next season treats them, but there is a lot to look forward to: Jayson Tatum No. 1 option hoops, bigger roles for players like Payton Pritchard, Baylor Scheierman, and Hugo Gonzalez, and the addition of Mitchell Robinson, who should greatly bolster Boston’s center depth<\/a> and help the team on the boards.<\/p>\n

There will be a lot of big Celtics storylines to follow next season, but there are also some lesser-known ones that fans may want to keep an eye on. <\/p>\n

The Celtics have had many teams’ numbers over the past few years, and despite their new-look core, they will aim to keep this trend going next season.<\/p>\n

11-game winning streak vs. the Washington WizardsNext time the Celtics can extend this streak: Tues. 11\/24 at 8 PM ET @ WAS <\/p>\n

The Celtics haven’t lost to the Washington Wizards since Mar. 28, 2023 (the score was 130-111). For context, the game’s highest scorer was Kristaps Porzingis, who recorded a 32-point, 13-rebound double-double… for Washington.<\/p>\n

10-game winning streak vs. the New Orleans PelicansNext time the Celtics can extend this streak: Sun. 3\/21 at 3 PM ET vs. NO<\/p>\n

It’s been quite some time since the New Orleans Pelicans gave Boston a loss. The last time it happened was on Mar. 29, 2021, by a score of 115-109<\/p>\n

These were some of the game and team highs: Pelicans – Zion Williamson had 28 points, Josh Hart had 15 rebounds, and Brandon Ingram had nine assists; Celtics – Tatum had 34 points, and Robert Williams III had 10 rebounds and three blocks.<\/p>\n

6-game winning streak vs. the Phoenix SunsNext time the Celtics can extend this streak: Fri. 1\/29 at 7:30 PM ET vs. PHX<\/p>\n

The Toronto Raptors last beat Boston on Jan. 15, 2025 by a score of 110-97 (this was also their second regular-season win against the Celtics since the bubble… no, seriously). In that game, Toronto was led by Pascal Siakam’s 40 points and 13 rebounds. The Celtics, meanwhile, were led by Marcus Smart’s 28 points.<\/p>\n

4-game winning streak vs. the Los Angeles Clippers, Miami HeatNext time the Celtics can extend these streaks: Sat. 1\/9 at 10:30 PM ET @ LAC, Fri. 12\/25 at 2:30 PM ET vs. MIA<\/p>\n

The Celtics currently hold four-game winning streaks against the Los Angeles Clippers and Miami Heat. <\/p>\n

They last lost to Los Angeles on Jan. 27, 2024, 115-96 (nothing too notable happened here. Kawhi Leonard and Tatum led their respective teams in scoring, though Daniel Theis did drop 18 points off the bench for the Clippers) and Miami on Apr. 2, 2025 by a score of 124-103 (funny enough, Tyler Herro and Brown, who were the centerpieces of the Giannis Antetokounmpo trade conversations<\/a> this summer, led their respective teams in scoring that game).<\/p>\n
