MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – An official autopsy report has been released on the late Memphis Grizzlies star Brandon Clarke.<\/p>\n
The autopsy was done by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. Clarke was found dead<\/a> inside his home in California in May.<\/p>\n The medical examiner\u2019s report listed his cause of death<\/a> as effects of heroin and cocaine, and lists other significant conditions as \u201ccombined effects of multiple prescription medications.\u201d His manner of death was determined to be an accident.<\/p>\n Those prescription medications were revealed in the autopsy: oxycodone\/oxymorphone, venlafaxine metabolite, chlorcyclizine metabolite, alprazolam, mitragynine (kratom), pregabalin, meprobamate, and carisoprodol. <\/p>\n Clarke was found unresponsive in his bed by a housemate around 5 p.m. on May 11 after Clarke\u2019s agent asked the housemate to check on him. <\/p>\n Drug paraphernalia including syringes, Narcan, injectable peptides and vape devices were found in the home, along with a plate containing an unknown white powdery substance and a hotel key card.<\/p>\n Clarke was previously arrested on April 1\u00a0<\/a>on drug charges and leading deputies on a chase in Cross County, Arkansas.<\/p>\n Clarke played in 309 games for the Grizzlies after he was acquired on draft night in 2019.<\/p>\n
