For the night, the Nets will sport their iconic logo with a twist, adding the Swamp Dragon colors of green and purple.

But who are the Swamp Dragons? And what connection do they have to the franchise?

Over 30 years ago, in 1995, the New Jersey Nets were considering a potential name change, rebranding to the Swamp Dragons. According to NBA insider Zach Lowe, there will be Swamp Dragons merchandise sold at the game; however, it has yet to be revealed whether or not the team will sport different uniforms for the occasion.

For more NBA content, check out the BasketBaltes podcast:

https://www.youtube.com/@BasketBaltes/videos

Need a news break?
