The Charlotte Hornets acquired Charlotte native Jeff McInnis in a trade during January of 2007.McInnis was selected by the Denver Nuggets in the second round of the 1996 NBA Draft after playing at UNC.He played 92 games for the Bobcats, averaging 4.4 points and 3.7 assists per contest.McInnis’s NBA career ended after the 2007-08 season, concluding an 11-year run in the league.<\/p>\n
The Charlotte Hornets<\/a> acquired veteran guard Jeff McInnis in January of 2007 for former Michigan alum Bernard Robinson, giving the McInnis (a Charlotte native) a chance to play for his hometown team. McInnis played his college basketball at UNC, earning two All-ACC selections and averaging 16.5 points, 5.5 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 1.2 steals in his junior season with the Tar Heels. Following that season, McInnis was selected by the Denver Nuggets<\/a> with the No. 37 overall pick in the 1996 NBA Draft.<\/p>\n Wearing the No. 0 in 92 contests for the Bobcats, Innis averaged 4.4 points, 3.7 assists, 1.7 rebounds and 0.4 steals in 23 minutes per game.
