Along with\u00a0three Chicago Bulls NBA championships, Stacey King became beloved as the franchise\u2019s TV color commentator, a role he held for nearly 20 years until his tragic passing at age\u00a0<\/a>59<\/a> in June.<\/p>\n

King\u2019s seat next to Adam Amin in the CHSN booth is tough for one person to fill, so the Bulls will have a rotating cast of analysts for the 2026-2027 season.<\/p>\n

The franchise announced<\/a> Thursday that Amin will be joined on the call this year by Kendall Gill, Robbie Hummel, Will Perdue, Bill Wennington, and Scott Williams.<\/p>\n

Front Office Sports\u2019<\/a> Ryan Glasspiegel and Michael McCarthy had previously reported on CHSN\u2019s ensemble plan to replace King<\/a> on the network\u2019s telecasts.<\/p>\n

Gill will also appear on the CHSN studio show with host Cam Smith and reporter K.C. Johnson. Wennington will also call games alongside Bulls radio voice Chuck Swirsky on The Score.<\/p>\n

While the collection of analysts is likely to be well-received by Bulls fans given their ties to the franchise as players and longtime broadcasters, King will continue to be missed in the years ahead, not just by fans but by those who worked alongside him.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou don\u2019t know what he\u2019s gonna say next, but that\u2019s part of the fun of it,\u201d Amin said of King on the Awful Announcing Podcast<\/a>. \u201cAnd it\u2019s made me better. It made me a better broadcaster. It\u2019s made me more flexible to either A, let me own personality out, or B, try to create and advance the rapport you have with somebody by letting them have the personality out there and know that I\u2019m going to accept it and I\u2019m going to run with it. I love the concept of \u2018yes, and\u2026\u2019 when it comes to improv\u2026 being a great partner by just saying, \u2018yeah, and\u2026\u2019 and adding something to it and letting the bit play out a little. And that\u2019s part of the fun with doing this with somebody like Stacey. It\u2019s different doing the job with Stacey because he\u2019s a unique broadcaster.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is a one-of-one. You do want to support that personality. Even if it\u2019s against type. You don\u2019t think of analysts as having a ton of catchphrases or dictating the energy of the call\u2026I\u2019m gonna call things a certain way. Yes, it\u2019s going to sound like we\u2019re overlapping; that\u2019s okay in my estimation. Especially because of the comfort rapport that we have and the trust that I think he has in me to make those calls and know that I am going to give him that runway and give him that space.
