The Charlotte Hornets have traded veteran Buddy Hield and cash to the Chicago Bulls.In exchange, the Hornets received former Kentucky point guard Rob Dillingham.Charlotte’s roster now stands at 17 players and must be cut to 15 before the season.The trade adds Dillingham to a crowded point guard rotation in Charlotte.<\/p>\n
The Charlotte Hornets<\/a> continued their active offseason Saturday, agreeing to another trade, this time to the Chicago Bulls<\/a>. The Hornets traded<\/a> veteran 3-point specialist Buddy Hield, who they recently acquired<\/a> from the Atlanta Hawks. Charlotte sent Hield and cash to Chicago in exchange for former Kentucky point guard Rob Dillingham.<\/p>\n Although Hield has a career 3-point percentage of 39.5%, the Hornets weren’t in need of his services behind the arc, containing one of the most potent 3-point offenses in the league. A season ago, Charlotte led the league in 3-pointers made and finished third in 3-point percentage.<\/p>\n Dillingham, on the other hand, has solid potential if Charlotte were to keep him. The former No. 8 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, Dillingham is a native of Hickory, North Carolina. However, in two seasons, he’s yet to receive steady playing time, averaging 13 minutes per game across 114 contests.
