Following day one of drills and practices, head coach Charles Lee discussed recent trade acquisition Dennis Schroder and what his role will be as the Hornets’ backup point guard.

“He’s grown as a leader. He’s impacted a ton of regular season and playoff games. Now, eight seasons later, the German point guard is recognized as one of the league’s steady veterans, having played 912 games over 13 NBA seasons. In those contests, Schroder has averaged 13.7 points, 4.9 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 0.8 steals while shooting 43% from the field and 34.1% from beyond the arc.

For more NBA content, check out the BasketBaltes podcast:

https://www.youtube.com/@BasketBaltes/videos

https://www.instagram.com/basketbaltes/

This article originally appeared on Rookie Wire: Hornets’ head coach reveals Dennis Schroder’s role after trade with Cavs

Wed, September 30, 2026 at 8:48 PM UTC Training camp is underway for the Charlotte Hornets, with their…

[3777
7,684,473,3878,685,6
post-848056","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-charlotte-hornets","tag-basketball","tag-charlotte","tag-charlotte-hornets","tag-charlottehornets","tag-hornets","tag-nba
["GET
