Brittany Renner and Kevin Gates are no longer a coupleCredit: Getty 4<\/p>\n The pair’s marriage lasted just 52 daysCredit: Instagram 4<\/p>\n Renner was a star on Basketball WivesCredit: Instagram\/bundleofbrittany 4<\/p>\n She converted to Islam last yearCredit: Getty<\/p>\n Renner explained the short stint as husband and wife is related to their religion<\/a>.<\/p>\n Rapper Gates and Renner are both Muslim, and Islam implements a 90-day waiting period for couples to test their relationship and attempt to conceive.<\/p>\n Renner explained in an interview with REAL 92.3 LA<\/a>: \u201cWe got married April 6 and divorced May 28.<\/p>\n \u201cThere is a 90-day waiting period in Islam, where you have 90 days to see if you\u2019re pregnant because then he would be responsible. <\/p>\n \u201cBut also in those 90 days, it\u2019s for recommendation because the law wants you to stay married. And during those 90 days, you are not to entertain anybody romantically.<\/p>\n \u201cSo, what I will say is Islam has made my life easier. <\/p>\n \u201cHonestly, I don\u2019t think anybody gets married to not stay married. So this is a nice 90-day reset, just focusing on myself.\u201d<\/p>\n Renner, 33, does not feel too downbeat despite her relationship working out.<\/p>\n That is because she feels she put her all into the marriage<\/a>, so is at peace with the decision not to continue.<\/p>\n She said: \u201cA lot of people, their issue is, even just in dating, in marriage, it\u2019s people just don\u2019t give it their all.<\/p>\n Shaq shouts at Stephen A. But I feel like when you do, you\u2019re at peace with whatever happens because I gave 100 per cent.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t feel like it\u2019s a sucky situation because what is meant to be is always going to be.\u201d<\/p>\n Renner was previously linked<\/a> to NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal<\/a>.<\/p>\n The pair shared a meal at the Beverly Hills Hotel in 2023, where they shared a meal.<\/p>\n Renner converted to Islam in August and began her relationship with Gates earlier this year.<\/p>\n She said of her partner in the height of their relationship: \u201cAll I can say is, is that I\u2019m with the person that I quite literally dreamed of.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd to be able to just wake up next to him and spend time with him, even to have him here behind me, it\u2019s like so surreal.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s just the most beautiful person inside and out that I\u2019ve ever met.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"BASKETBALL Wives star Brittany Renner has announced her divorce from Kevin Gates.
