The turn of events in the second game of the 2025 NBA Finals has brought the Oklahoma City Thunder back into the picture after being defeated in Game 1. Recently, a reputed NBA analyst made a bold prediction after the comeback of the Oklahoma City Thunder during Game 2 of the 2025 NBA Finals. The blunt claim made by the former basketball star has left the Indiana Pacers’ fans curious and tense.

NBA analyst Richard Jefferson makes a strong claim about the OKC Thunder

The indomitable spirit of the Oklahoma City Thunder brought the NBA back in action mode, which has left the NBA world in awe. After being defeated by the Indiana Pacers in Game 1, the tie between both the NBA teams has given the much-needed push to the OKC Thunder. During a recent appearance on ESPN’s basketball show, popular NBA analyst Richard Jefferson opened up on the potential of the Oklahoma City Thunder during game 2 of the 2025 NBA Finals recently. He said- “Love it that Tyrese said, ‘I’ve got to get myself going earlier in the games. I’ve got to get the feet in the paint, and you saw that in the fourth quarter, he had five going into the fourth, and then he gets those 12 points, but the game is out of reach. It’s a 20-point game. Those are empty calories.”

Richard Jefferson on Tyrese Haliburton’s Game 2 performance

He further mentioned that it is the “time of death” of the Indiana Pacers. Jefferson discussed “So when I am talking about a team like Haliburton leading that, I can’t just stand. Okay, this is what I am saying: in those moments when Haliburton was ahead, they weren’t attacking enough. They weren’t able to get enough into the transition, and just ultimately, you’ve got to give credit to the OKC team.”The Indiana Pacers fought with grit all night, pushing the Oklahoma City Thunder to the edge. Every possession felt like a battle, but in the end, it was the Thunder’s late-game poise that made the difference. With the game — and perhaps the series — hanging in the balance, Oklahoma City found another gear and pulled away when it mattered most. Their comeback didn’t just flip the scoreboard — it shifted the tone of the series and sparked conversation across the basketball world.
