For weeks, the Houston Rockets<\/a> have been among a handful of NBA teams listed as a potential trade suitor<\/a> for Milwaukee Bucks<\/a> superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.<\/p>\n

But at least to public knowledge, Antetokounmpo has yet to request a trade. And if he doesn\u2019t, the perennial All-Star forward and Most Valuable Player (MVP) candidate is under contract with Milwaukee for at least two more seasons<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cGiannis Antetokounmpo has gone overseas to travel with his family,\u201d NBA insider Brian Windhorst said Tuesday on ESPN\u2019s Get Up<\/a>. \u201cHe has made no trade request to the Bucks. He has made no trade hint to the Bucks. The Bucks are proceeding with their offseason as if Giannis is going to be with them. And there are no significant trade talks, right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNow, he can change all that with a simple request, but that request hasn’t happened. And it’s not clear that request is going to happen anytime soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

The first round of the 2025 NBA draft is two weeks away on Wednesday, June 25, and that\u2019s long been viewed as a key date for any blockbuster offseason trades. After all, any team potentially trading for a high draft pick (such as the No. 10 overall selection that Houston currently owns, via Phoenix) would undoubtedly prefer to make the selection, themselves, if they are acquiring it as part of a larger transaction that sends out a star player.<\/p>\n

So, there is still a bit of time left for Antetokounmpo to seek out a trade in the 2025 offseason, if he wants one. But the window is starting to close.<\/p>\n

Now 30 years old, Antetokounmpo has played with the Bucks for the entirety of his 12-year NBA career.<\/p>\n
