The Golden State Warriors are going to be linked to a variety of offseason targets as the current NBA season nears a close.<\/p>\n

With the NBA Finals underway, moves will soon start to be made across the league, as it’s been predicted that the offseason trades and deals will begin early this year.<\/p>\n

The Warriors made a trade to land Jimmy Butler at the deadline this past season, which helped build a contending squad around Stephen Curry.<\/p>\n

After winning one playoff series, the Warriors’ season ended in the second round.<\/p>\n

Following their impressive late-season turnaround, Golden State has glaring offseason needs. They need a reliable big man and perimeter shooting to properly build around their core of Curry, Butler and Draymond Green.<\/p>\n

With the needs in place, the Warriors have been linked to a handful of names, most notably Boston Celtics star Kristaps Porzingis and Milwaukee Bucks center Brook Lopez.<\/p>\n

However, a new Bucks big man has emerged as a target for the Warriors, according to a recent report from Jake Fischer. Bobby Portis, who Golden State head coach Steve Kerr is a fan of, could be a strong offseason target for the club.<\/p>\n

\u201cTeam executives expect Portis to have numerous potential landing spots in the midlevel market as well, although Milwaukee would like to bring back the 30-year-old forward,” Fischer reports. “Golden State has always been a team to monitor for Portis, who has a notable fan in head coach Steve Kerr from their shared days during the 2023 FIBA World Cup competition with USA Basketball.\u201d<\/p>\n

With Kerr having experience with Portis, the head coach might have a vision of how the Bucks’ big man would look in the team’s system.<\/p>\n

Portis was pivotal in Milwaukee’s title run in 2021, so he has experience playing winning basketball and complementing a superstar.<\/p>\n

Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. will have a busy offseason, regardless of what roster changes and moves are made, as the club aims to capitalize on the final years of Curry’s career.<\/p>\n
