Kentucky<\/a> managed to sneak the nation\u2019s No. 1 overall recruit to Lexington for an official visit \u2014 Mark Pope<\/a> proving real Gs move in silence like lasagna. The Wildcats hosted Tyran Stokes<\/a> on campus this week, the five-star wing arriving June 8 to be a part of move-in and early workouts for the 2025-26 squad as we prepare for year two of the new era. <\/p>\n

Stokes previously took official visits to Louisville and Kansas \u2014 arguably Adidas\u2019 top basketball brands \u2014 and now, one of Nike\u2019s top programs is throwing its hat in the ring. <\/p>\n

We have the photos to prove it, the Louisville native sporting blue and white threads rocking No. 4 for the very first time as a major Kentucky target. Pope and his staff hope it\u2019s the first of many to come. <\/p>\n

\u201cBBN how we feel \u00bf?\u201d Stokes wrote on social media.<\/a><\/p>\n

I speak on behalf of BBN when I say we\u2019re doing pretty darn good seeing the most dominant player in high school basketball wearing Kentucky across his chest. We\u2019ll feel even better if he puts pen to paper with the Wildcats as Pope\u2019s biggest addition to date.<\/p>\n

Fellow Kentucky target Jason Crowe Jr.<\/a> commented on the post, as well, sharing a simple covering-eyes emoji. The Lynwood, CA native is rated as the No. 6 overall prospect in the latest 2026 On3 Industry Ranking. <\/p>\n

What could the Wildcats be getting in Stokes, who was a no-brainer at No. 1 overall in On3\u2019s latest update \u2014 and the likely No. 1 pick in the 2027 NBA Draft? <\/p>\n

\u201cStokes\u2019 flashes of dominant outputs are too much to ignore at this point in the cycle,\u201d On3\u2019s Jamie Shaw wrote. \u201c\u2026 When Stokes gets downhill, he is a load to deal with. Whether in the half-court or in transition, Stokes has a strong base, with explosive burst, and gets downhill with a purpose.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stokes told KSR last July that Kentucky was among the schools pushing hardest for him \u2014 certainly when it comes to head coaches, Mark Pope joining Kansas\u2019 Bill Self at the top of the list. <\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, it\u2019s still close to home and still a great, great program with a great coach,\u201d Stokes told KSR. \u201cCoach Mark (Pope), he\u2019s a great dude. He\u2019s always texting me, catching up and telling me congratulations on the games and stuff like that. For the most part, I\u2019m talking to Coach Mark.\u201d<\/p>\n

What will he be looking for when it comes time for a decision?<\/p>\n

\u201cJust somewhere I\u2019m comfortable, somewhere that feels like home and somewhere I can play my game,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
