Prospective Celtics owner<\/a> Bill Chisholm has spent the last few months \u201ccurating a group of two dozen or so investors<\/a>,\u201d chosen not just for their capital but for \u201ctheir ability to collaborate and offer industry expertise, such as in real estate,\u201d according to sources cited by Shirley Leung of the BOSTON GLOBE. Chisholm will be the \u201csingle biggest shareholder\u201d with at least a 15% stake, while global steel magnate Aditya Mittal is investing $1B<\/a>.\u202fA source said that investment firm Sixth Street\u202fis \u201cexpected to hold roughly\u201d a 10% stake in the team and be a \u201csilent partner.\u201d But \u201clots of other people will also have a slice of the team.\u201d Sources said that N.Y. developer Bruce Beal Jr. got connected to Chisholm through their mutual bankers at Goldman Sachs. Granite Telecommunications CEO Rob Hale \u201cbegan\u202f\u2018hanging around the hoop,\u2019\u201d letting it be known he \u201cwanted to be part of the new ownership.\u201d Chisholm has offered current Celtics shareholders the opportunity to \u201cstay on and many are,\u201d including Celtics Gov. Wyc Grousbeck, Paul Edgerley, and John Connaughton. Celtics co-owner Steve Pagliuca is \u201cstill to be determined.\u201d Leung wrote that she could see Abbey Group cofounders Robert and David Epstein \u201cturning their attention\u201d to women\u2019s soccer. Robert\u2019s daughter Jennifer Epstein is the controlling owner of NWSL club Boston Legacy FC<\/a>.
