Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd coached the Brooklyn Nets for one season (2013-14) after retiring from the NBA in 2013.<\/p>\n

The Nets posted a 44-38 overall record in the 2013-14 season. Kidd’s team beat the Toronto Raptors in the first round of the 2014 playoffs in seven games before losing to LeBron James and the Miami Heat in the second round in five games.<\/p>\n

A fascinating event then took place in the offseason of 2014. Kidd decided he wanted to leave Brooklyn for the Milwaukee Bucks.<\/p>\n

So, the Bucks traded two second-round draft picks to the Nets to get Kidd, the Hall of Fame point guard who is third in NBA history in assists.<\/p>\n

The New York Knicks\u00a0are interested in hiring Kidd as their next head coach after firing Tom Thibodeau. However,\u00a0the Mavericks won\u2019t let the Knicks speak to Kidd, who has two years left on his contract with Dallas.<\/p>\n

New York Knicks receive: Jason Kidd<\/p>\n

Kidd would become the first coach in NBA history to be traded twice if the Knicks trade for him.<\/p>\n

Kidd,\u00a052,\u00a0has a coaching record of 362-339 in the regular season and 31-33 in the playoffs with the Nets, Bucks and Mavericks. He played for one season with\u00a0the Knicks\u00a0in 2012-13.<\/p>\n

By all accounts, it doesn’t appear Kidd wants to leave the Mavericks for the Knicks.<\/p>\n

However, if he changes his mind, New York will have to part ways with draft picks to get Kidd.<\/p>\n
