The 2025 NBA draft is nearly here, and teams are doing their homework on players they could select during the process. It’s especially hard for teams like the Detroit Pistons<\/a>, who don’t have an early pick. They have to cast a wide net to look at potential hidden gems in round two. Enter Kentucky Wildcats forward Andrew Carr.<\/p>\n

Carr is, in many ways, a prototypical type of player for the current NBA. He is 6’11” and can score around the rim, but he can also shoot it well from outside, forcing defenders to vacate the paint to stay with him. It’s a valuable skillset.<\/p>\n

The Pistons have recently worked Carr out, according to the Detroit Free Press<\/a> (subscription required). They don’t pick until the second round, pick number 37 overall, and are leaving no stone unturned.<\/p>\n

Last season, Carr averaged 10.3 points and 4.7 rebounds per game for the Wildcats. He also made over 32% of his three point attempts. However, he often struggled with physical opponents and was pushed around under the basket. He’s also an older prospect, which works against him.<\/p>\n

Still, it’s encouraging that an NBA team has worked him out. Even if they don’t draft him, they could bring him in post-draft.
