Former Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith will return to Arrowhead Stadium as the team’s Drum Honoree.

Smith spent five seasons in Kansas City from 2013-17, helping turn the Chiefs into a consistent playoff contender.

The Chiefs reached the postseason four times during his five seasons, while Smith earned three Pro Bowl selections.

His best season with the Chiefs came in 2017, when he threw for a career-high 4,042 yards and 26 touchdowns with just five interceptions.

He also led the NFL with a 104.7 passer rating.

Smith’s final season in Kansas City also happened to be Patrick Mahomes’ first. The Chiefs traded Smith to Washington after the season, clearing the way for the Mahomes era to begin.
