NORTH KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Chiefs fans gathered at Callsign Brewing in North Kansas City ahead of the team’s season opener Monday night against the Denver Broncos.
Fan Dan Joy said he is looking forward to the game.
“We’re excited, Monday night football against Denver. It’s gonna be a tough game. But everybody’s fired up, we’re ready for the season to begin,” Joy said.
Joy said Monday’s game will be his 250th consecutive Chiefs home game.
“Tomorrow will be 250th consecutive home game. I’m excited about that,” Joy said.

Joy said the streak started as a personal goal.
“It was just a goal. One day I said I wonder how many games I’ve been to. And I was at 173 so I said I’m gonna go for 200. Then I hit 200, so I said let’s do 250. But you know I’m getting tired. I don’t know if I’m gonna make 300, but I’ll try. But, that counts Germany, that counts London. Those were all home games. All the COVID games, I mean I never called in sick,” Joy said.
When asked what he is looking forward to most this season, Joy said he hopes for improvement from last year.
“Hopefully a better win percentage than last year. And everybody staying healthy. Patrick especially. Hopefully Travis has a good year, I think this may be his last year. I’d like to see him go out with a great year,” Joy said.
