A week after reporting a big rise in value for his football team, Forbes magazine said Shad Khan’s personal wealth grew in its annual ranking of the 400 richest Americans.
The Jacksonville Jaguars owner ranked 70th in the Forbes 400 with an estimated net worth of $16.5 billion, 15% higher than last year, Forbes reported Sept. 15.
Khan ranked 74th in the 2025 list.
As the NFL season began Sept. 9, Forbes reported that the Jaguars franchise value jumped 44% since last year to $8.05 billion, as national media and other shared
revenue pushed up the value of all NFL teams.
Before buying the Jaguars for an estimated $770 million in 2012, Khan’s biggest business was Illinois-based auto parts supplier Flex-N-Gate, which he bought from his
former employer in 1980, Forbes said.
As a private company, Flex-N-Gate does not report financial data, but Forbes in January estimated its 2025 revenue at $9.3 billion.
Khan’s other business holdings include British soccer team Fulham FC and, along with his son, Tony, the professional wrestling organization All Elite Wrestling.
Beyond the value of NFL teams, Forbes reported the rich are getting richer with the total wealth of the Forbes 400 reaching $8 trillion in 2026, up from $6.6 trillion last year.
The minimum net worth needed to make the list this year is $4.4 billion, up from $3.8 billion.
Elon Musk is the richest person on the list with an estimated net worth of $908 billion, Forbes said.
In July, Forbes ranked Khan No. 13 on its list of the richest immigrants in the U.S. Musk also ranked No. 1 on that list.
