The Dallas Cowboys have brought back Israel Abanikanda, the team announced Thursday, signing the running back to the team’s practice squad.
Abanikanda was a fifth-round draft pick of the Jets in 2023. He was released by the Jets in late 2024, and spent time with the 49ers and Packers before joining the Cowboys’ practice squad in November.
He impressed in training camp, but was a gameday inactive for Dallas’ season-opening loss against the Giants.
