SAN ANTONIO – NFL player Von Miller is expected to help provide free eye exams and pairs of glasses to kids in San Antonio next weekend on the city’s East Side.
A nonprofit created by the Dallas Cowboys linebacker provided more than 11,000 low-income students with eye care across the United States since 2012.
Next Saturday, Sept. 26, Von’s Vision Foundation will make its first pit stop in San Antonio.
The event is scheduled to be held at the Boys & Girls Club of San Antonio – Eastside Clubhouse and is limited to 100 uninsured children, ages 3-17, who live in San Antonio, according to a news release.

Von’s Vision will provide each child a free eye exam from a Texas-licensed optometrist. The release said children who require vision correction will also receive two free pairs of “fashionable” prescription glasses.
“We’re excited to bring Von’s Vision to San Antonio for the very first time and help ensure local children have the eye care they need to thrive both inside and outside the classroom,” Miller said.
As of the time of this posting, Miller is expected to attend his event at the Eastside Clubhouse. However, a spokesperson said “he is still prepping to gear up for the Cowboys,” so things could change.
Families who are interested are urged to register ahead of next weekend’s event since availability is on a first-come, first-served basis, the release said.
