The Seattle Seahawks have some real injury issues to keep an eye on ahead of Week 2.
Obviously, the biggest one is quarterback Sam Darnold. Darnold suffered a glute injury in Week 1 and has already been ruled out for Week 2. The quarterback should be back for Week 4 or Week 5.
Unfortunately, that’s not the only concern. Starting defensive backs Nick Emmanwori and Ty Okada were both out in Week 1, and they’re still dealing with nagging injuries. The Week 2 matchup with the Cardinals won’t be as easy as previously thought, so it would be nice to get healthier before Sunday.
Let’s see what the Thursday injury report told us.

The following players were listed on Thursday’s injury report:
G Anthony Bradford- Knee, Hip- LimitedQB Sam Darnold- Glute- DNPDB Nick Emmanwori- Ankle, Hip- LimitedWR Tory Horton- Hamstring- FullCB Josh Jobe- Wrist- FullT Josh Jones- Knee- LimitedWR Cooper Kupp– Back- FullDB Ty Okada- Hamstring- DNP
There are a couple of big concerns here. One, Bradford now has a hip injury added, when yesterday it was just a knee. The guard was limited for the second day in a row.
Additionally, it’s not a good sign that Emmanwori is still limited and Okada still isn’t practicing at all. Seahawks insider Gregg Bell added that it “seems like Emmanwori won’t play,” which is not ideal. It’s hard to imagine Okada playing, either, at this point.
The good news is that Tory Horton is set to make his debut. The receiver/return man gives the Seahawks another option in the pass game and special teams. Additionally, Cooper Kupp was back to full participation after being limited on Wednesday.
It’ll be interesting to see what Friday’s report shows us. If Bradford ends up missing the game, Christian Haynes could end up getting the start at right guard. If Emmanwori and Okada miss again, expect to see a lot of Rodney Thomas II for the second week in a row.
