With longtime long snapper Zach Wood expected to miss significant time with a calf strain, the Saints have enlisted the services of Daly. The 32-year-old has spent the past five years in the NFC North, playing two and a half seasons in Detroit and two in Chicago. After spending the summer with the Buccaneers and getting waived at the roster cut deadline, Daly signed with another North team, spending about two weeks on the Packers’ taxi squad before getting released earlier this week. He’ll likely take up Wood’s long snapping duties as a standard game day practice squad elevation this weekend.
