The 2026-27 NFL campaign has started rough for the Los Angeles Chargers. They succumbed to their second consecutive 14-26 loss on Sunday.
Having lost to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1, they failed to beat the Las Vegas Raiders in their second game of the year. Neither team is expected to be in contention for anything major this season.
In fact, both the Cardinals and the Raiders were among the NFL’s worst teams last season. And that makes the Chargers’ losses particularly troublesome.

Expectations are high from the Chargers, Justin Herbert was being discussed as a potential MVP candidate before the season began.
However, they have been unable to deliver on those expectations even remotely in the first two matchups. In fact, their losses have led to them making the wrong kind of history.

Experiencing back-to-back losses is part and parcel of the NFL season. However, it is the quality of the opposition that makes this a terrible stat for the LA franchise.
