The LA Rams have signed UDFA safety Maximus Pulley to the 53-man roster from the Eagles’ practice squad. To make room, the Rams placed Ronnie Rivers on IR after he was injured in Monday night’s game against the Giants.
Pulley played for Wofford College in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). In 34 career games, his statistics include: 185 total tackles, 100 solo, 7 TFLs, 7 INTs, 3 defensive TDs, 16 PBUs, 1 forced fumble, 5 fumble recoveries, and 1 blocked kick.
According to SI’s Scouting Report:
The same scouting report includes shallow zone awareness, instincts, and special teams value as some of Pulley’s strengths.
Pulley can make an immediate impact on special teams and pass coverage in underneath zones. The fact that the Rams must now keep Pulley on the roster indicates they like what they see in the young man.
The only remaining question is whether the Rams move someone off the roster to make room for a third running back.
