Reports: Bengals’ Chase, Higgins fined for celebrations against Texans

Cincinnati Bengals wide receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins have reportedly been fined by the NFL for a celebration during Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans.
One instance of the celebration in question came in the second quarter, when Chase made a contested touchdown catch to put the Bengals up 7-0.
Chase said the fine came as a result of a “people’s elbow” move but declined to give a specific name for the celebration.
“I can’t say what something we made up and then everybody else saying what it is, I can’t sit there and say that,” Chase said. “Everybody going to have their opinion on what it look like, what it is. They have many people talking about what it look like, what it is, but I can’t really sit here and say that’s what it is.”
According to a report from The Athletic, the NFL fined Higgins four times and Chase twice for the gestures last Sunday, totaling more than $89,000.
Chase had seven catches for 75 yards and two touchdowns in Cincinnati’s 20-6 win over the Texans last Sunday. Higgins hauled in five catches for 95 yards.
