It’s been a somewhat lackluster start to the season for the New England Patriots after making the Super Bowl a year ago.
Things haven’t exactly looked promising on either side of the football, and that’s a bit worrisome.
Many didn’t think the Patriots would be as good as they were a year ago, though that seemed unfair.
Others questioned the organization over factors outside its control, such as last season’s schedule. It’s still important to recognize that the Patriots had to get through the AFC in the playoffs and did exactly that.
As for ways to improve this roster, it isn’t unfair to suggest the Patriots can still improve on both sides of the football.
Adding an edge rusher who has experience making plays at a high level should be near the top of the priority list. Bleacher Report recently suggested that Maxx Crosby could be available and named the Patriots as a potential suitor alongside the Dallas Cowboys.
“Still, the fact that the Raiders were previously open to moving one of the league’s most disruptive defenders will keep him on other teams’ radar between now and the November 10 trade deadline.
“Expect the Raiders to get more than a few aggressive offers from Super Bowl hopefuls looking to boost their defensive fronts. Potential Suitors: Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots,” Bleacher Report wrote.
The Patriots have to be careful here.
If the Las Vegas Raiders eventually move on from Crosby, many teams will be interested in him, despite the Raiders playing a bit better than some anticipated entering the year and starting 2-0.
The price will be high, and New England might not want to pay it, depending on how things go over the next couple of weeks.
